It's All About Communicating

At Monet Binder Law, we encourage communication and we think it’s one of the most important parts of our planning process. We focus on having a lifetime relationship with our clients.

Why is this so important?  Because, we have found that the average client, at other law firms, after their estate planning documents were signed, would put them on the shelf or in a drawer for safe keeping.  Estate planning would be removed from the to do check list, and they’d move on.

As their lives changed, assets increased, and the laws governing estate planning were modified, they wouldn’t call their attorney – mostly because they didn’t want to be billed. Eventually an event would happen – someone passed or lost capacity – and the documents needed to be used.  To their surprise, the documents could not be used as they were intended, because they didn’t reflect the new circumstances in their lives. There was no ongoing relationship with the lawyer because no one kept in contact.

Here, at Monet Binder Law, once your documents have been signed, we don’t walk away.  Your plan is not something you do and never look at again.  We proactively communicate with you during and after the process.  Since your life is dynamic (rarely does everything remain exactly the same), your plan might need to change over time.  We review your plan every three years, at no charge, to make sure it is current with your life’s changing circumstances.  Also, we’ve created programs to make it easy for you to have access to us, as your family attorney, over a lifetime. Our firm is the best fit for people who want the peace of mind of knowing their family will be taken care of when something happens to them – that we will be here for their family throughout their lifetime and then afterwards.
